MIEE was invited to participate in the 2024 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation and Development Forum

On November 7, the 2024 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation and Development Forum was grandly opened at the Wuhan East Lake International Conference Center. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Hubei Province, and co-organized by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Wuhan Municipal People's Government. MIEE Automobile was invited to attend and held friendly exchanges with entrepreneurs from many African countries to jointly promote Africa's green development.

The forum is themed "Innovation Promotes Cooperation and Cooperation Writes a New Chapter", aiming to deepen scientific and technological cooperation between China and Africa and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in firefighting and emergency rescue, agriculture, industry, public health and other fields. The holding of this forum not only showcased 321 achievements of China-Africa scientific and technological innovation cooperation, but also witnessed the establishment and awarding of 17 international corporate innovation centers, joint laboratories, and international business incubation centers, as well as 21 on-site signings involving agricultural science and technology innovation, space technology, public health and other fields, which promoted scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa and injected new impetus into the common development of both sides.

At the opening ceremony, the China-Africa Agricultural Innovation Alliance was established. The establishment of the alliance marks that China-Africa agricultural science and technology cooperation will soon be upgraded from disorder to order, from scattered to integrated, and from single line to network, helping to open a new chapter of win-win cooperation between China and Africa. The alliance will focus on common agricultural concerns between China and Africa, such as food security, biosecurity, and green development, and promote the precise docking and in-depth integration of agricultural science and technology and industrial resources between China and Africa by building a cooperation platform.

Chinese and African youth strengthen cooperation and exchanges in innovation and entrepreneurship. At the meeting, the award ceremony for the final of the 3rd China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held. The competition focuses on four major fields: digital economy, circular economy, big health and new materials, and modern agriculture. Nearly 100 projects entered the preliminary rounds in various fields. The participating team members mainly came from 18 African countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, and Morocco. Projects such as "'Water' from the Sun - Solar Water Evaporation Materials and Applications" from Sudan and China won awards.

At the keynote forum, Xia Song, Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Liz Kosten, President of the African Academy of Sciences, delivered speeches. There is also an "Ambassadors' Appointment" session, where Guinea's Ambassador to China Aminata Koita, Democratic Republic of Congo's Ambassador to China Balumuene, and Central African Republic's Charge d'Affaires in China Behena interviewed on site; in the "Expert Discussion" session, Ni Sidao, Vice President of the Institute of Precision Measurement Science and Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Puti Ezrom Ngope, Professor of the University of Limpopo in South Africa and Founding Academician of the South African Academy of Sciences, gave keynote speeches; in the "Offshore Viewpoint" session, relevant persons in charge of MCC Southern Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Angel Yeast Co., Ltd. shared their experiences.

As an active practitioner of the country's "Belt and Road" initiative, MIEE has conducted field investigations and research in the African market twice and has accumulated rich market experience. During the forum, the MIEE delegation listened carefully to the keynote speeches of many well-known experts and scholars, and had in-depth exchanges and discussions with entrepreneurs from many African countries. On the basis of past experience, we have deepened our understanding of the African market and successfully established initial contacts and cooperation intentions with African groups and some guests. This has provided strong support for MIEE to expand its business in the international market and seek high-quality partners, and also laid a solid foundation for MIEEto deepen its African market.

As an active participant in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, MIEE Automobile will give full play to its own advantages, continuously strengthen the advantages of China's automobile industry, and promote the export of Chinese automobiles to Africa and the export of the automobile industry chain overseas.
