AMS2024 Grand Opening and Successful Conclusion of the "Wuxiang Shisui - World-Class Automotive Industry Cluster" Business Matchmaking Event

On December 2, 2024, the "Wuxiang Shisui - World-Class Automotive Industry Cluster" business matchmaking event was successfully held as part of the 2024 Automechanika Shanghai. The event was jointly hosted by MIEE Shareholder Group and Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), and attracted leading officials from the four cities of Wuxiang Shisui, including Gong Bailin, Deputy Director of the Shiyan Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee; Hu Ying, Director of the Economic and Information Commission of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone; Xu Yaoyong, Deputy Director of the Shiyan Economic and Information Bureau; Liu Hongxia, Fourth-level Researcher from the Shiyan Bureau of Commerce, as well as over 120 representatives from Hubei-based organizations and companies, including the Shanghai Hubei Shiyan Chamber of Commerce, Wuhan Automotive Parts Chamber of Commerce, Dongshi Co., Dongfeng Forging, Hubei Kunyu, Shiyan Linan, and other notable businesses.

AMS2024 Opens at the National Exhibition and Convention Center

The 2024 Automechanika Shanghai (AMS2024) officially opened from December 2 to 5 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As one of the world’s top three automotive and parts exhibitions, this year’s event spans 350,000 square meters, with 14 exhibition halls, and will feature over 6,700 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions. Seventeen international pavilions are also participating, and more than 80 concurrent activities will be hosted, with over 400 industry experts involved.

On the morning of December 2, the delegation visited MIEE (Automobile Innovation and Technology) in the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, where they learned about MIEE’s business structure and its efforts in expanding into overseas markets. Leveraging its forward-looking overseas strategies, MIEE connects key resources from Shiyan’s automotive sector, driving the region's automotive industry growth and international expansion.

Subsequently, at the National Exhibition Center’s 501 Conference Hall, the "Wuxiang Shisui - World-Class Automotive Industry Cluster" business matchmaking event took place. The event utilized the AMS2024 platform to facilitate cooperation and exchanges between global automotive parts suppliers and companies from the Wuxiang Shisui region. It provided a platform for investment attraction and promoted the industrial advantages and brand image of the "Wuxiang Shisui" national automotive industry cluster. The event further supported investment, brand promotion, and partnership-building within the region.

During the promotion session, Hu Ying, Deputy Director of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone’s Economic and Information Commission, Xu Yaoyong, Deputy Director of the Shiyan Economic and Information Bureau, and Hu Yin, Director of the Investment Promotion Center of Songjiang District, Shanghai, introduced the automotive industry resources, investment policies, and business environment of the three regions, encouraging active collaboration among enterprises. Four Hubei-based companies—Dongshi Co., Dongfeng Forging, and others—shared their competitive products and core advantages with global industry players. Shanghai Yanxuan Technology Co. also presented its solutions for the automotive manufacturing sector.

Following the presentations, Gong Bailin, Deputy Director of the Shiyan Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, emphasized the tremendous potential for cooperation between Hubei and Shanghai in the automotive parts sector. With Shanghai’s advanced economy, large and diverse market, and leading technological capabilities, the cooperation between the two regions is highly complementary. By capitalizing on this exceptional platform provided by the 2024 Automechanika Shanghai, both regions are poised to explore deep collaboration, tapping into hidden opportunities within the industry. This will help foster a new trajectory for industrial upgrading, aiming to build a globally competitive automotive parts industry cluster.

Finally, in the presence of officials from Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shiyan Bureau of Commerce, Shiyan Economic Development Zone, Shanghai Songjiang District Investment Promotion Center, the Shanghai Hubei Shiyan Chamber of Commerce, and Shanghai Lianggao Group, representatives from the automotive industry associations of the "Wuxiang Shisui" regions jointly unveiled the "Wuxiang Shisui Automotive Industry Cluster Brand Promotion Alliance."

The establishment of the alliance marks that the Hubei Automobile Industry Cluster of "Wuxiang Shisui" will pay more attention to brand building and promotion, and enhance the competitiveness and influence of the entire cluster through the integration of resources and collaborative innovation. In the current new wave of changes in the global automotive industry, the alliance should be guided by a global vision and a leading domestic strategic positioning, give full play to the positive role of the government and the effective regulation of the market, and continuously promote industrial innovation and upgrading. The holding of this docking event provides an international display platform for the Hubei automotive industry cluster, which will help enhance the global visibility and influence of Hubei's automotive industry. It is believed that through the appearance and display of AMS2024, it will promote the investment promotion of Hubei's automotive industry and bring capital and technology injection to the automotive industry in Shiyan and other parts of Hubei.
